【Event Announcement】AWLF Online Summit Vol.12 (July 10, 2026)

By 2026年6月24日AWLF News EN

Guest Speaker: Ms. Hiromi Nakano
Social Facilitator / HR Consultant

On Friday, July 10, 2026, we will host our 12th AWLF Online Summit via Zoom.

AWLF Online Summit is a recurring, dialogue-based series designed as “A Third Place to Connect with Asian Women Leaders.” It brings together participants across generations and borders to engage in meaningful conversations, learn from lived experiences, and reflect on leadership and life.

Our special guest for this session is Ms. Hiromi Nakano — a social facilitator and HR consultant whose life has taken her from Yokohama to London, from Washington D.C. to the world, and whose work has touched communities far beyond any single border.

At 19, Ms. Nakano moved to London, spending nine years in the United Kingdom before working at foreign banks and financial institutions in Tokyo. In 1993, she was headhunted by the World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C., becoming the first Japanese national to serve as HR Manager. She later worked as HR Counselor for over five years, advising staff from around the world on career development and interpersonal relations. She is also widely known as the translator of the original message that became the basis for the globally beloved book “If the World Were a Village of 100 People.”

Upon returning to Japan, she established her own practice in HR consulting, counseling, keynote speaking, and writing. Today, under her original “Social Wreath” concept — a vision of enriching communities to raise the happiness of every individual — she continues to build connections across society. Now a wheelchair user, she embraces each new chapter of life with the same conviction she has always held: that life is meant to be enjoyed.

At this session, Ms. Nakano will share her journey across cultures and communities, and her vision for how deeper human connection can transform the way we live, lead, and look after one another.

The AWLF Online Summit is a dialogue-centered gathering, combining a keynote talk from our guest with interactive conversations among participants. We invite you to join us for a space where new perspectives and cross-border connections can emerge beyond generations and backgrounds.
