A leading environmental conservationist from Thailand and a global pioneer in animal welfare and sustainable ecotourism.
Born in the mountainous region of northern Thailand, she grew up with values rooted in living in harmony with nature. In 1995, she founded Elephant Nature Park, establishing a sanctuary for elephants rescued from harsh labor and abuse. Today, the initiative rescues thousands of animals including dogs, cats, and water buffalo, while integrating local employment and educational support to create a sustainable community model in which people and nature coexist.
Her work has received worldwide recognition, including being named a “Hero of Asia” by Time magazine, receiving the French National Order of Merit, and the Ford Foundation’s “Heritage Award,” among numerous international honors.
Currently, as Chair of the AWLF Thailand Committee, she promotes the creation of new social value across Asia, centered on environmental conservation, women’s leadership, and well-being.
