Sakina Shiihara

(Japan)
PR Ambassador, Asia Women Leaders Forum

A writer and performing artist who creates and reads novels and scripts. Through mysterious events that unfold alongside everyday life, her work portrays people rediscovering and reclaiming their true selves.

Since 2016, she has organized the reading event series “Otoneri-kai.” Her performance experience includes appearances at corporate events such as the MSC Volunteer Salon hosted by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation (now Tanabe Pharma Corporation), as well as dedicatory readings at shrines and temples across Japan. To date, more than 800 people have participated in her reading events.

Since 2020, she has also released monologue-style radio dramas on YouTube, with her works accumulating more than 50,000 hours of total watch time.

Having traveled to more than 40 countries and visited the homes of people she met along the way, she has encountered firsthand the lives of women and the challenges they face in different communities. These experiences deepened her interest in supporting women in reclaiming their own strength and agency.

Drawing on her professional experience in public relations at a publicly listed company, she now serves as a PR Ambassador for AWLF, translating the organization’s vision and activities into language that resonates with wider society. Through her work, she seeks to bring the encounters between Asia’s women leaders and the next generation to the people who need them most.
