Guest Speaker: Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona
(Chancellor of Mindanao State University, Maguindanao)
On Friday, April 10, 2026, we will host our 9th AWLF Online Summit via Zoom.
AWLF Online Summit is a recurring, dialogue-based series designed as “A Third Place to Connect with Asian Women Leaders.” It brings together participants across generations and borders to engage in meaningful conversations, learn from lived experiences, and reflect on leadership and life.
Our special guest for this session is Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona, Chancellor of Mindanao State University, Maguindanao, a transformative education leader from one of the most resilient regions in Southeast Asia.
From the heart of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in southern Philippines — a region that has navigated decades of conflict and is now charting a path toward peace — Dr. Limbona leads with an unwavering conviction: that education is the most powerful force for shaping a better future. As Chancellor, she oversees one of the region’s most vital institutions for nurturing the next generation of leaders, guiding young people to become agents of peace, development, and meaningful change in their communities.
Holding a Ph.D. in Public Administration and having served in key university leadership roles before her appointment as Chancellor, Dr. Limbona bridges the worlds of academia, governance, and civil society. Her contributions extend beyond the university — through active engagement with the Red Cross, Rotary Club 3870, and the Regional Advisory Group for Police Transformation, she exemplifies the kind of cross-sector leadership that drives lasting societal impact.
At this session, Dr. Limbona will share her journey and insights on transforming adversity into opportunity, and on the role that education and leadership play in building communities where the next generation can truly thrive.
The AWLF Online Summit is a dialogue-centered gathering, combining a keynote talk from our guest with interactive conversations among participants.
We invite you to join us for a space where new perspectives and cross-border connections can emerge beyond generations and backgrounds.
