AWLF Online Summit Vol.4|Event Report

On Friday, November 14, 2025, we hosted our fourth interactive online summit.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our distinguished guest speaker, Ms. Haruko Iino, and to all participants who joined us from across Japan and around the world.

This online summit series, envisioned as “A Third Place to Connect with Asian Women Leaders,” creates a space where people from different generations and countries can come together to learn, reflect, and engage in dialogue.

In this session, we welcomed Ms. Haruko Iino—an 82-year-old professional in the world of advertising and gained insights into her life experience, aesthetic values, and inspiring philosophy of aging with brilliance and grace.

■ Guest Speaker: Ms. Haruko Iino

At the age of 35, while raising two daughters as a single mother, Ms. Iino began her career from scratch. After gaining experience at international advertising agencies and working on luxury brands such as LOEWE, she was later headhunted by Dentsu at age 50. Now, at 82, she continues to work professionally and live independently.

She is a living embodiment of “Lifelong Career, Lifelong Beauty,” and her story offered great inspiration to all who attended.

■ Lecture Highlights: The Older You Get, the Richer Life Becomes

Based on her own life experiences, Ms. Iino generously shared her philosophies on beauty, life, and inviting good things to happen.

Especially memorable was her empowering perspective on aging:
“Being in my 80s is the happiest time of my life. Aging is strength.”

She also emphasized, “When you have something or someone to protect, you naturally become stronger.”
These words, spoken from the heart of someone who has lived as a mother, woman, and professional, deeply resonated with the audience.

Ms. Iino’s belief that beauty is a form of self-investment also left a lasting impression:

  • “Skincare and fashion are daily rituals.”

  • “I change my outfits every day.”

  • “I visit the hair salon three to four times a week.”

She chooses different shoes and outfits each day and wears heels to maintain her posture, not simply out of vanity, but as an act of honoring herself and embracing life with positivity.

She also introduced her personal philosophy on luck:
“When you live earnestly, the universe—or as she calls it a ‘helper power’—will come to your aid.”
“I practice ‘one flower a day’. I find and photograph one small moment of joy every day.”

Throughout her talk, she emphasized the importance of seeing the good in every situation and expressing gratitude by sharing it with others.

■ Dialogue Session Highlights

During the second half of the summit, participants posed heartfelt questions such as:

  • How can I balance my career and femininity?

  • How do I transform life’s challenges into growth?

  • What’s the secret to staying beautiful with age?

  • How can I become mentally strong?

To each of these, Ms. Iino responded with practical wisdom rooted in her personal experience—warm, powerful, and encouraging.

■ Looking Ahead

AWLF continues to work toward its vision of cultivating 10 million women leaders from Asia by 2030, with a major international summit scheduled for 2026 at the United Nations ESCAP headquarters in Bangkok, bringing together 333 Asian women leaders.

This online summit was yet another step toward that shared future, an uplifting moment where perspectives and compassion transcended borders and generations.

Our next online summit (Vol. 5) is scheduled for Friday, December 12.
We warmly invite you to join us again.
